SHREK May 30th was a terrific show! It was amazing how they pulled off the costuming tricks with the Gingerbread Man and Lord Farquad. I wish that I could have stayed in-town to see it a second time. Excellent Production

My son was in a recent production and had an extremely positive experience. Everyone involved with the theater was incredibly nice and always had the kids' best interests at heart. Safety was a primary concern. We had to specify who could pick up our son from rehearsals and performances and there was a sign out sheet to ensure that's what happened. There was an illness in the cast and they decided to postpone performances a week instead of letting the show go on and infecting the rest of the cast. They also did a fine job of juggling the varied concerns of the families involved. We tend to be on the conservative side and felt that those views were respected even though there was quite the range of opinions. The quality of the performances was pretty high given the compressed time line of rehearsals, "tech week", and 9 different performances over 3 weeks. It was exhausting getting my son to thr various call times but we always felt communicated with and I never felt they pushed my son too far. My son had a blast and has definitely gotten the acting bug. He's already talking about the next show. And there's also room for people who want to work backstage or to take on a smaller part. All the parents involved also pitched in with their time and talents to make the show a a success. Overall Spokane Children's Theater is a great place for kids to experience stage life and also a great place just to see a show.
