Spirit Center For The Performing Arts, on South Main Street in Lamar, teaches dance and musical theatre to boys and girls ages 3 and up, with tap, ballet/lyrical, AcroDance, KinderAcro and creative movement across about 14 classes a week. It also runs private lessons for competition dancers and is home to the Spirit Elite and Rising Star competition teams, and has said it plans to add voice, drama and music. It brings dance training to rural southeast Colorado through year-round classes rather than a summer camp.
