Special Reach is a San Antonio nonprofit offering summer enrichment programs and after-school clubs for children with developmental disabilities, ages 6-18, while providing respite for their families. Trained staff lead structured, fun activities that build social skills, physical fitness, and independence; siblings ages 5 and up may attend. It runs as a specialized day program rather than a traditional camp.

Powered by GoogleI've had the pleasure of volunteering at Special Reach this year and it is the best part of my week. The workers, especially Cici truly care about each participant, and all of the workers are incredibly kind too. The friendships and laughter made are really the best parts along with the care and kindness the volunteers and participants receive.
I’ve been honored to volunteer with them three times in the past year. The joy they bring to extraordinary children is truly amazing! If you have the capacity, I highly recommend looking into their services or volunteering. Such a worthwhile cause and organization!
Special Reach, Inc., founded by Cici Osonma, has been a source of immense joy and gratitude for my family. The enrichment programs, carefully coordinated by Casey Glueck-Acevedo, have provided our son Sebastian with unique opportunities that have enriched his life in so many ways we never thought possible. Thanks to their fun, creative, and engaging programs, Sebastian has developed a newfound self-confidence and made friends who embrace his unique abilities and make him feel part of the Special Reach family. The Special Reach team deeply understands the special needs population, as evident in their thoughtfully curated programs, in-depth planning, and cohesive program leadership to ensure our child is engaged and safe, providing us with much-needed respite. We trust them completely to deliver a positive, enriching experience in a welcoming environment every time. In addition, their highly qualified Special Education teachers and Speech, Occupational, and Physical Therapists have first-hand experience serving the special needs community. We are incredibly grateful for all that Special Reach has done and continues to do. We know Cici, Casey, and the Special Reach Program Leadership team will continue to make a difference for our community's special needs families. Thank you for all you do!
If I could give more than 5 stars I would! I have been bringing my special needs kids to the activities for years and now my daughter is a volunteer there. They provide comprehensive, specialized care to all of their kids and they practice according to standards. They are very detailed and particular about caring for special needs individuals and the staff are all qualified professionals that love what they do. I highly recommend Special Reach. I cannot say enough good things about the services they provide.
When I first heard of Special Reach program, I was hesitant because I had never left my child with anyone. Her big sister went as her caretaker the first few times and was my eyes and ears. She came home saying, I had nothing to worry about. The take good care of them and they are safe. Special Reach is the first and only place I have completely trusted with my child. She adores everyone there! Cici works hard to be completely inclusive of all the children and make sure they have proper care. Due to the children wanting to participate, I have to make sure to put in my RSVP as soon as it shows. I appreciate Casey and Samantha for all the time they put into the personable communication with parents. My little one does NOT want to miss a day. It’s such a special place that when she is asked what she wants to do when she grows up she says Special Reach which May not seem like a big deal but it’s FIRST time she even spoke of a job. Maybe a little premature but what an awesome goal! I recommend Special Reach every time I meet new Special friend.
