Spartan Recreation Center is a City of Shoreline recreation facility at 202 NE 185th Street and the hub for the city's Parks and Recreation summer camps. Offerings include Camp Shoreline for ages 5-11, specialty camps for ages 3-18 covering art, nature, drama, Legos and specific sports, and teen and tween camps for ages 11-18; the sports weeks at Spartan rotate a theme each week, such as flag football, sports medley, basketball, gym games and dodgeball. Both half-day and full-day options are available depending on the camp. Scholarships are available to qualifying Shoreline residents, applications are published in English, Spanish and Amharic, and payment plans let families hold a spot with a $50 deposit.

Four stars only because of the lack of space and equipment in the weight room. There is no squat rack and not many dumbbells. I mostly use this facility for basketball. There is usually enough people to play pickup during all of their scheduled times. Court can be slick at times, but they do a yearly resurfacing which helps. I appreciate that the weekly schedule is posted on the site. Overall, great community gym with a terrific staff and great place to meet folks who like basketball.

We had to setup the nets ourselves but was relatively intuitive and didn’t take too long to setup. It was only $5 for drop in which is very cheap for the amount of time that we played. Overall a positive experience and definitely will go back more often!
★★★★S AWe like to take our two year old there M-F from 10-12. They have a toddler/preschool playtime I guess you'd call it. It's open to the community. It costs us 2$ usually but many times we've shown up at 11:30 and staff let us in free. The gym is clean and the parents do a good job watching the children. Friendly/safe environment.
