SPACE (Seaview Performing Arts Center for Education) in Pāhoa hosts HICCUP Children's Circus summer camps, a Big Island tradition since 1987. Campers spend five days learning circus skills like juggling, aerial, unicycling, stilts and acrobatics, plus garden exploration and clay work in the pottery studio. Tuition is on a sliding scale of $200 to $300 to keep it accessible.

SPACE is such a resourceful, beautiful, and needed place in Lower Puna. Morgan, the executive director, runs a great program at the location and is always looking to expand the opportunities for keiki and adults. Awesome people here and awesome energy!
The atmosphere and people are really positive. They have the hiccup circus there as well as art and music and science and Hawaiian studies and uke class for the kids at HAAS. Hiccup circus is open to the public 3:30-5:30. Call to find out schedule. Highly recommended as a great activity for confidence and skill building for children and all ages!
I was apart of the HICCUP Circus at SPACE for 8 years. I also attended 5th and 6th grade classes there. In addition, I attended the space farmers market for many years until it ended. All amazing experiences that I look back to with a smile.
