If I could give more than five stars I absolutely would! Southwick Black Belt Academy has been the best decision we've ever made when it comes to extracurriculars for our children. My daughter started at 10 years old and has grown and flourished with the instruction not only in Taekwondo and Tai Chi, but also in leadership, self-confidence, service to community, and compassion for others. Her younger sister (6) loves the little dragon class, especially the obstacle course days, and has also shown more focus, control, obedience and respect at home since attending classes. My Son 17 started just last year because of the fellowship and support that he received from the Southwick's and their amazing staff before he was even a student! They have many opportunities to try new skills with their monthly seminars, and one on one instruction time with the short private lessons you can book to help when you're struggling with any one skill or concept. The quarterly tournaments are always exciting to attend to have a moment to showcase all the hard work and success the students are having in class. We love the family friendly environment that the Southwick's have striven to provide. The sense of caring and community extends from the Southwicks to their staff, and to the people who choose to attend as students and supporting parents. Grand Master Southwick and his wife Master Tia have created a safe place for people to come together with all levels of ability and talent to improve themselves physically and mentally. We have made some of the most treasured friendships over the years here and will 100% recommend this Academy to anyone who is looking for a similar experience.

I have loved being at Southwick Blackbelt Academy. My son has been doing it since Oct. 2025. He has grown so much and been more willing to set goals and push himself. He was scared of rollerskating and used his Black Belt attitude to set a goal and reach it. He was afraid to put his face in the water and used his black belt attitude to set a goal…he ended up ducking his head 200 times out of his own excitement! He has also been more focused in PT. He has loved it!
