Powered by GoogleMy son has had an amazing experience here. After school, he was able to participate in the after-school program where he completed his homework, worked out, and enjoyed playing games with his friends in a positive and structured environment. He also spent the summer involved in community service and youth-focused events that highlighted the many positive things happening in Detroit. These experiences helped him grow not only academically and athletically, but also as a young person who cares about his community. He currently trains with Sound Mind Sound Body as part of their football program, and the impact has been incredible. SMSB truly focuses on uplifting the community and providing youth with the guidance, discipline, and opportunities they need for a brighter future. I’m grateful for everything they pour into our kids.
I Believe this Organization is Truly set on providing our youth an opportunity to achieve..excel while developing Chapter and Dignity in these young men.. They took my son on 3 different trips to Visit College campuses and attended real games and met Coaches... I couldn't ask for anymore... Did I mention it was all absolutely Free last year...
Today I received a text from one of your coaches named K.S for 7u stating that my 7 year old son couldn’t participate in the football program because the coach disagree with me having a well rounded child. First my son is 7 year old we don’t know what the future holds. I paid my for training In full so it shouldn’t matter what days he come on off season. I’m a full time working and student mother of three children with extracurricular activities. I feel discriminated against and excluded because of my parenting style. K.s is very overly aggressive and he does not represent what youth programs are meant for. Then he proceed to make a mockery out of my son other extracurricular activities in the parenting chat. If this is who you have as a leader of children. I want no parts. All he care about is looking good and winning. I was looking forward to changing teams for a better experience, but we will stay where we are because at least the parents are heard and valued. And their no children’s favoritism. I rather have a child that has values and morals, good work ethics with a strong foundation than a winning team. I heard rumors that this organization was very unorganized and ghetto. But I said I was going to give it a fair shot. Turns out it’s true. I hope that you can take this email and make changes in the future, but I will not recommend anybody to come here.
This place is solid! One thing that sticks out to me is that Coach Blackwell finds a way to interact with every kid in his program. He has a large number of athletes in his program and he took time to hold a individual zoom meeting with each if them to analyze their HUDL highlight while providing feedback before they were posted! He also has a staff on and off the field to ensure his athletes are getting what they need. He's obsessed with production and growth!
Great place
