Smart Start Academy is a family owned early childhood school in Toms River, founded in 2000, that runs a summer day camp and before and after school care for children ages 5 to 12. The summer camp runs from June, once school is out, through August and is open 6:30am to 6pm, with theme weeks, sports, arts and crafts, music, STEM activities, academic enrichment and weekly trips and visitors. Breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack come at no additional cost, and the before and after school program adds homework help, recreation, transportation for Citta Elementary School students and all-day programs on school holidays and breaks. The center also enrolls infants from 6 weeks through pre-kindergarten and earned a 3 Star rating from Grow NJ Kids in 2019.
