Can’t believe I haven’t reviewed Slowfire by now as it is my favorite business in Oak Park! The community of artists here is outstanding. In the last few years, I’ve gone from sitting down at a wheel for the first time into a competent potter making my own work. I’ve even sold some pieces. Slowefire has me still learning and developing new skills. Plus, I’ve made amazing friends. So happy to say I’ve become an adult who hangs out with her pottery crew once a week having a great time!

I love Slowfire! I feel so genuinely lucky to have this studio in the community. I've taken ceramics classes for about two years here and am now a participant in the flexible program. All the instructors are amazing and supportive.

We hosted a keychain making birthday party for our twins' at Slowfire and it was wonderful! The teachers, Ms. Priscilla, Ms. Selma, and Ms. Metz, who ran the party did an excellent job of both maintaining order and making it super fun for all the girls. The birthday girls had so much fun, and their friends did as well. The next week I also saw many of the keychains on the girls' friends' backpacks at school, which was an added bonus!

We hired Salma, from Slowfire to provide face painting at my daughter's 6th birthday party. We had A LOT of kids and A LOT going on, and Salma was absolutely amazing. She was so kind, patient, and calm with all the kids. She made each of them feel comfortable and special. Her work was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! We loved the experience so much and highly recommend hiring Slowfire for any face painting needs :)

Slowfire hosted our Dominican University Borra College of Health Sciences Leadership 2024 Holiday Wheel Throwing Party on December 19th, 2024. Noelle, Steven, and Jeny guided us through the class and were so helpful and patient. It was fun and they were wonderful hosts! They even set up our tablecloth and sandwiches/beverages/and cookies we brought. We had aprons made by a friend of Noelle’s, Brieanne Maldonado, for gifts for each person that attended and they were just lovely. Everyone in our group loved this event and their time there! Several of us talked about going back for more classes and other classes as well. It is in a great location, nice shop, they offer fun and creative activities, and the people are so very nice. Thank you everyone at Slowfire for everything!!
