Skills for Life Basketball Academy is a half-day summer basketball camp for boys and girls ages 9 to 14, led by internationally known former Harlem Globetrotter Curley "Boo" Johnson with top Peoria-area high school players assisting. Alongside on-court skill work, the camp teaches life skills under the motto "Improving Your Game On and Off the Court," with teamwork, integrity and respect as its stated core values. The 2026 camp runs August 3-7 in single four-hour sessions split by gender — boys 9:00am-1:00pm and girls 2:00pm-6:00pm — at Washington High School and the Central and Washington middle schools. Registration is open-enrollment and the founder's stated aim is to reach young people of all economic backgrounds.
