Our daughter has absolutely LOVED doing ballet at Skalicky, it's her favorite part of the week. We started back in August of 2025. We have enjoyed seeing how much she has learned and how much fun she has. She was especially thrilled to be in the performance this spring, she had the best time getting dressed up to be on stage. We are so happy with how it turned out and the effort put in by her teachers, Tiffany, the dancers and all the parents that helped. We will be continuing lessons here for the foreseeable future!

Our experience with Skalicky Ballet has been overwhelmingly positive, and our daughter loves it. She’s excited to go to class, and can’t wait to show us what she learned after. As another parent involved with the studio, I feel like some important context is missing here. This was the studio’s very first major production, and while there were definitely normal first-production hiccups, there were also dozens of parents and volunteers working incredibly hard to help every child succeed backstage. Many of us volunteered our time in dressing rooms, helping with costumes, hair, makeup, and keeping little dancers calm and organized throughout the performance. The claim about a child being “drugged” is extremely serious, and honestly, nobody involved seems to know what situation is even being referenced. Throwing out accusations like that publicly without clarification is unfair and alarming. Communication about rehearsal schedules, makeup, costumes, and photos was sent repeatedly through multiple channels. In fact, for some of the younger dancers, reminders were even physically attached to students to help ensure important information made it home to parents. At some point, parents also have a responsibility to read communications carefully and follow up respectfully if they are still confused. That is especially important when your dancer is very young and fully dependent on the adults managing their schedule and preparation. The comment about Tiffany only being available when “payments are due” is also unfair and inaccurate. Tiffany is not even the person handling studio accounting. From what many of us have personally experienced, she has spent an unbelievable amount of unpaid time supporting families, organizing rehearsals, answering questions, comforting nervous dancers, and trying to make a brand-new production successful for these kids. As for volunteering, that is simply part of how many youth dance productions function, especially during recitals and backstage preparation. The mothers volunteering backstage were helping every child, not just their own, because that is what supportive dance communities do. Many of us sacrificed our own time so these children could have a memorable experience. The photographer was also volunteering time and editing services. Parents were informed that photos would be distributed once editing was complete. Removing someone from a group chat after repeated negativity and conflict is not the same thing as refusing communication. Also, backstage areas for young dancers were intentionally restricted to approved volunteers and mothers helping in dressing areas for student privacy and safety. That is a very normal practice for children’s performances. Constructive criticism is fair. Every new studio has areas where they will grow and improve. But this review reads less like genuine concern and more like an attempt to publicly tear down people who were working incredibly hard for these children. As one of the parents who volunteered and witnessed the amount of care that went into this production, I think that deserves to be acknowledged too. I’m proud of these dancers, proud of the families who stepped in to help, and proud of a studio that took on a huge challenge with heart and determination.

Through the art of ballet, the students learn grace, dedication, confidence, and the value of hard work in an inspiring and refined environment. Watching my daughter grow with such discipline, poise, and passion is truly admirable. The teachers and directors from this academy bring not only technical excellence, but also a deep appreciation for the beauty and culture of classical ballet.
