Sitka Sound Science Center runs marine and environmental science day camps in Sitka for children from pre-K through grade 12. Each week-long camp combines art, design, engineering, and outdoor excursions around a seasonal theme, with hands-on coastal field trips. The nonprofit center offers scholarships and grant-funded fee waivers to reduce cost barriers.

Powered by GoogleNot worth the price at all. $15 per adult to go inside a room where they have some tanks and you can touch a few sea critters. I know they need to keep things going and well maintained but $15 per person is way too much for what you get to see.
Only a tiny room with three water tanks where you can touch a few sea stars etc. and see a few fascinating fish and crustaceans. Not really worth $15 per person for effectively 15 min... Most of the interesting stuff is not open for the public.
Awesome experience to walk along the river and watch the Salmon return to where they were born. Great work to the team helping the Salmon population!
Very small aquarium. They hands-on touch tanks. The hatchery was closed when we visited. I don't regret going but they had lots more opportunities for the education of local wildlife for the price. I know most of the business is seasonal. I hope they can expand.
I had so much fun visiting the Sitka Science Center! Loved being able to touch all the sea life. Maia was a great host throughout the facility and is so super knowledgeable about marine life. My visit really made me want to learn more about the ocean and sea life. Thank you Science Center for a wonderful visit!!
