Shelby Township's BEST runs a summer camp for local elementary-school children, with each week mixing indoor and outdoor sports, educational lessons and arts and crafts. Daily transportation is included in the membership, and the program currently serves families from Monfort, Roberts, Switzer, Morgan, Crissman and Wiley elementary schools. Coaches must pass a level-2 background check, the same standard required of Shelby Township teachers, and the camp sells out early each year.
