Shaw JCC
Private
The Shaw JCC of Akron runs Camp JCC, a summer day camp offered week by week from early June through mid-August (about 10 weeks), 8am-3:30pm with aftercare to 5:30pm. Nearly 40 camp options span the traditional outdoor camp experience plus specialty tracks such as horseback riding, basketball, soccer, arts and cooking. Days are spent outdoors on campus with small groups, swimming, arts and crafts and physical education. Rooted in the Jewish community, it welcomes all families.
The practical details
We list only what the camp itself publishes, and programs change — dates, prices, ages and availability can all move after we check. Confirm the details on the camp’s own website and contact Shaw JCC directly before you register or pay. Last checked August 2026.

Powered by GoogleThe staff is amazing, especially the lifeguards. They are so good with the kids. Excellent facility!!! If I could give it more stars I would.
I joined the JCC primarily to have access to the swimming pool and gym. Neither are very crowded and you're greeted by way of identity card to the gym and there's generally a police officer in the area for security. Variety of programs available for members and the cost for membership is reasonable
Always a great swim and great picnic table to work and still see my kiddos safe while swimming! Also great baseball field for my boy when he plays there!
Great facility for kids and families. You don’t have to be Jewish to go there. The outdoor pool and snack shack are great. I like to pull a chair into the shade and work on my laptop. The new Executive Director cares about everyone who walks through the door and is an active listener. I like to donate to them because I can actually see where the money is being used. It’s refreshing and I feel like I’m supporting the community.
This is mostly about the pool, particularly the outdoor pool open the summertime, but also the indoor pool. I do not make use of gym facilities or other programs there, but I they seem to be fine and I never hear anything but positive comments about them. The outdoor pool itself could do with better filtration and bottom cleaning toward the end of Summer but it is not bad earlier in the season. The indoor pool is much cleaner as it is used by far fewer people and a very nice option to have if the outdoor pool is particularly crowded, if you are getting over a sunburn, or if you don't want to deal with sunscreen on a blazing hot, sunny day. Also, it is open year-round! I have also added some aerial photos showing the entire facility, including ballfield and tennis courts.
