As a long-time parent customer, it is disappointing to watch a company that was once a trusted staple in the Smyrna community struggle with consistency, communication, and stability. My children have experienced numerous instructor changes, scheduling disruptions, facility transitions, and operational adjustments that have made it increasingly difficult to support their learning experience—especially for my daughter on the autism spectrum, who benefits greatly from routine and consistency. Despite these concerns, I remained committed because I believe swimming is a life-saving skill and because I believed in the reputation Sharkies worked hard to build. What has been most disappointing, however, is not just the ongoing instability but the lack of acknowledgment (from all except the AGM) when concerns are respectfully raised. As a paying customer and parent, I expect communication, accountability, and a genuine commitment to the families who continue to invest their time, trust, and money into this program. I sincerely hope Sharkies can return to the level of excellence, organization, and customer care that once made it such a respected name in our community. Send your loved one elsewhere so you do not experience the headache my family has.

Love Sharkies in Smyrna! The staff is amazing from the office to the coaches! Our girl had autism and has limited speech, the adaptive lessons coaches are kind, work at her pace and put safety first. We are so very thankful that lessons are ONE ON ONE!!! Not only with adaptive but everyone had the opportunity to have their little be the sole focus. We have encouraged others in the special needs community to reach out and my friends have loved it too! The first class is a free trial which also shows it’s not just about the money but making sure it is a good fit for our situation! 10/10 highly recommend!!

We love Sharkie’s! We have been taking our baby here since she was 4 months old. She’s still too young to really appreciate the life-saving skills they teach, but it’s fun to get out of the house and get her acclimated to the water! From the moment we walked in, the environment felt welcoming and patient. My son doesn’t always communicate in traditional ways, but the staff at Sharkie’s never treated that as a limitation. Instead, they met him where he was, with kindness, consistency, and respect. Phoenix, his swim coach, deserves special recognition. Watching my son go from being hesitant in the water to actually swimming has been nothing short of amazing. Phoenix’s calm energy, encouragement, and ability to connect with my son has made a real impact on his confidence and progress. I also want to thank Cheryl, the manager, who has been incredibly supportive and accommodating from day one. Her understanding, flexibility, and genuine care for families like mine does not go unnoticed. She has created a space where parents feel heard and children feel valued. The entire Sharkie’s team from the coaches to the front desk has shown patience, professionalism, and compassion every step of the way. They understand that every child learns differently, and they honor that in how they teach. Sharkie’s Swim School is more than just swim lessons for our family. It’s a place where my son is empowered, encouraged, and celebrated. I’m deeply thankful for the role they’ve played in his growth, both in and out of the water.
