As an athlete who has cheered for many years I can say RCA is great! Becky is an amazing coach! Love it here!

Update12/9: Here is my response to her journal entry. I fully stand behind the review I left for Becky Abbott and Rogue Cheer Athletics. I encourage anyone considering doing business with her to read my review in full, along with the other negative reviews that highlight similar concerns. Becky has repeatedly contributed to a negative environment within the cheer community, and it is no surprise that athletes continue to leave. This is not speculation, she stated on her own website that three more athletes left mid-season. Her response to my review was not posted where it belonged, but instead buried on her website, which feels unprofessional and deliberately inconvenient for parents trying to make informed decisions. In her post, she claims she agreed to pay and followed through. That is simply not accurate. We attended one mediation, not multiple. During that mediation, she openly said, “I only agreed to pay her back so she would go away.” After going back and forth, she still refused to pay the full amount. I even offered to settle for half, and she refused that as well, insisting she had done nothing wrong. Becky did not address the concerns in my review, but more made excuses and avoided what she calls allegations. However everything in my review is truthful, documented, and supported by communication records and the court ruling. I stand by every word. So they are 100% not allegations. My Experience with Rogue Cheer Athletics and Owner Becky Abbott I wanted to share my personal experience so that other parents can make informed decisions before enrolling their children at Rogue Cheer Athletics. Long story short, my daughter chose not to participate in cheer this season due to several instances of condescending and inappropriate behavior from the owner, Becky Abbott. Some of these interactions took place directly with me through text and others face-to-face with my 11-year-old daughter, which I found completely inappropriate. When I, as the parent, requested a meeting to address my concerns, Becky told me, “That’s not how this works. Period.” After that, I asked for a refund and informed her that we would no longer be part of Rogue Cheer. She refused and claimed I was bound by a contract from the previous year, which was not valid for the current season. After multiple back-and-forth conversations, she initially agreed to refund only $250 of the $2,500 owed, then raised it to $500, then $800, calling it “half”, which it clearly was not. I declined those offers and asked for a full refund. She then proposed to repay $2,500 in $100 monthly installments over 25 months, which I also declined. While I was still responding to her message, she sent me $100 via Venmo without agreement and then stopped communicating. When no further payments came in, I was forced to file a small-claims case. At court, the judge ruled in my favor, stating that her business practices were not legal, that her contract was invalid, and that she needed to get her business practices in order before continuing to operate. He emphasized that she was stealing, and what she was doing was considered theft. He even pointed out that her website emphasizes “doing the godly and right thing,” which he reminded her she had failed to uphold. Following the ruling, I sent her a formal demand for payment, generously allowing 30 days to comply. On the final night of that deadline, she sent the full payment, only after being contacted again. I’m sharing this so that other families are aware before committing to Rogue Cheer Athletics. There are other cheer programs in the Rogue Valley that operate with integrity, transparency, and respect, I strongly recommend exploring those instead. It’s also worth noting that Becky Abbott is currently under investigation by the Oregon Department of Justice, which anyone can verify through public record. If Becky Abbott (Rogue Cheer Athletics) owes you money, I strongly urge you to file a small claims case. She shouldn’t be able to do this to people.

I have never felt more accepted then with Becky and everyone I've met. Im not on the team but im definitely trying out next season because everyone is so nice and treats each other so much better I've seen. When I went after my practice and saw the prayer circle and when stunts fell they didnt blame each other I knew I found a new home.

This is our very first season with Rogue Cheer Athletics, and I can honestly say it has been one of the greatest experiences for our entire family. From the moment we stepped foot into the gym on day one, it instantly felt like home. There is something special about the environment here. It is warm, welcoming, and genuinely supportive in a way you do not always find in youth sports. Coach Becky, Coach Stevie, and every single staff member have gone above and beyond to make my child feel seen, valued, and encouraged. Their passion shows in everything they do, and it is clear they care just as much about building confidence and character as they do about skills and routines. The athletes and the parents are equally wonderful. Everyone is kind, uplifting, and truly acts like a second family. There is no mean girl energy, no cliques, no negativity. Just kids cheering each other on and parents who mirror that same positivity. It is also incredibly unfortunate to see some of the negative reviews that have been posted, because they simply do not reflect the reality we have experienced. If anything, those reviews give off very strong high school mean girl vibes, which is the complete opposite of the culture this gym embodies. Our real, firsthand experience has been nothing but supportive, loving, and inclusive. On top of the amazing environment, the results speak for themselves. The teams just recently competed and brought home 1st and 2nd place in their divisions, which is a direct reflection of the hard work, dedication, and positive energy poured into these athletes by the coaches and staff. Joining Rogue Cheer Athletics has truly been one of the best decisions we have made. My child has grown not only in skill but in confidence, friendships, and a genuine love for the sport. We are so grateful to be part of a gym that feels like community, like family, and like home. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a cheer program built on kindness, growth, and genuine support. We could not be happier. 💙🤍📣

My daughter has not only found the most talented coaches EVER THEY HAVE SO MANY FIRST PLACES but a truly epic family 🙏 I trust all of them with my daughters life! She has grown so much and matured with RCA! During the hardest times the coaches are there to assist in helping be that guide and influence in these kids lives. Coaches change lives and they are a true testament to what God intended leaders in kids lives to be. Super blessed to have my daughter with Rogue! She want to go all the way to college with cheer and the team is excited to get her there! The best part of all is they have a BLAST, work really hard and have created life long friendships!
