ROCK : Really Outrageous Christian Kids

ROCK is truly one of the most amazing programs I have ever experienced. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the warmth and energy that fills the space. The staff is incredibly caring, kind, and genuinely invested in every child’s well-being. Kathy Gibson, the director, sets the tone for a welcoming and nurturing environment. Each day is thoughtfully planned to balance fun, learning, and spiritual growth. The activities are creative and engaging, keeping kids excited and interested. From arts and crafts to group games, there’s never a dull moment. The program also places a strong emphasis on character development and kindness. Chapel time is uplifting and encourages kids to explore their faith in a meaningful way. Homework support is available, ensuring that children can succeed academically while still enjoying themselves. The mentors and staff are approachable and patient, always ready to listen and offer guidance. I’ve watched children build confidence and make lasting friendships in a safe environment. The focus on teamwork and cooperation teaches valuable life skills. Parents are always kept informed and involved, which adds an extra layer of trust and reassurance. The facilities are clean, organized, and filled with bright, welcoming spaces. Snack time and outdoor play are well thought out and balanced throughout the day. Every child is treated with respect and given individual attention when needed. The sense of community within ROCK is truly inspiring. Kids leave each day smiling, proud of what they’ve accomplished. The program celebrates diversity and encourages children to respect and appreciate one another. Special events and holiday activities make every season feel exciting and memorable. I cannot recommend ROCK highly enough — it is an outstanding program that truly makes a difference in the lives of children and their families.

ROCK after school care is a godsend! The staff are positive, fun, and encouraging! It’s nice to have a reasonably priced option that includes Christian influence; that gives it an edge over school based options.

My experience was great with Pastor Perry, but was least to be desired when it came to the director and her staff. The director Kathy claims to be a devout Christian but loves to partake in gossip and form ill conceived opinions against people whom she doesn't know anything about. She was fully briefed upon my child being enrolled that they had special needs yet while my child was there they were threatened by a high school aged staff member and were continuously bullied and ridiculed by other students. Despite me and my childs mother continuing to Express concerns the director allowed these atrocities to continue time and time again as they failed to intervene. Furthermore everytime me and my childs mother would ask for updates concerning our child we were told they were doing good but would have minor setbacks (as if being threatened by a staff member is a minor issue). Lastly after continuously telling us our child was doing good they abruptly decided to kick our child out and became very hostile and uncooperative when asked for a copy of our childs educational record. I do not believe these actions reflect that of a devout christian nor that of a person who is truly there for the best interest of the children. Lastly I believe the actions of the director to be very unprofessional and contrary to the teachings of the bible. For these reasons I would highly encourage any parent who has a child with any sort of special needs or accommodations to seek options else where.
