Powered by GoogleThe horses r all very friendly and my kids loved petting them all - some of the other comments say they used horses not ponies but I can understand if u have a lot of big kids ponies can't handle them since they can't carry to much weight - I have been around horses so I understand that - very clean place I highly recommend
Well, the facility is nice and clean. 2 stars for a couple reasons, it wasn’t clear to me that all children would be sharing one horse nor that adults would be unable to ride with the small (2 year old) children on full sized capable horses. I would agree with others that they are not very accommodating. I’ve had horses all my life, my dad worked on a ranch for all his life, but it was expected of us to speak at almost a whisper to not spook the horses. Which is very challenging at a kids birthday party. Never have I seen trained horses spook so easily, and if they do, I don’t understand why those are the horses they choose for the kids to ride. Someone was basically scolded over getting a drink from a plastic water bottle and it “crinkling” and possibly spooking the horses because of that. The ride consisted of one small lap around the arena for each rider, all sharing the same horse. I’m sure the place would be great for more in depth learning of horses but for a child’s birthday party, I would not recommend.
I had my daughter's 6th birthday party here, and it was perfect! The party started by petting and saying hello to the horses. After a quick safety briefing, the kids took turns brushing the horse and then riding the horse in the arena (with 2 guides leading the horse). We had ages from 2-11 at the party and it was friendly for all of them! Two hours was perfect for horse interaction, cake, and presents.
River Run has a really great summer camp that familiarizes kids with the care and keeping of horses! My child loved it tremendously and now wants to take formal lessons. It was well worth our time to make this happen!
My daughter had her 4yr birthday party here with friends from her class as well as family. The staff chose a horse according to the size of the kids wanting to ride. They all got rides in the indoor arena. The staff went over safety with the kids and staff about the animals and what not to do. I had dropped off supplies earlier this week to be used for the party and when I got there everything was setup. I just had to show up with cake, pizza and kids. No stress, no fuss, no worries, just a good time. The price was also very fair for the venue and help I recieved. I will be doing their riding camps for my daughter in the future. They are nothing but awesome.
