Revolution Field Hockey Camps

My daughter attended a sleepover Revolution camp for the first time. I found the camp to be well-organized, with good pre-camp information. She is a sporty, outgoing, tough 13 year old kid, and we were all excited about this camp. She was hoping for an experience during which she could hone her skills and make some new friends. However, the evening after she arrived, she started begging to come home, which was pretty surprising, given her personality. She said that the kids were all mean girls and the counselors did nothing to make her feel included. She was a solo camper, not a kid who came to the camp as a member of a friend group, like many of the other kids. The girls at the camp seemed to go out of their way to make her feel excluded and shunned. At this type of camp, counselors and coaches should be doing their jobs, which is not only to teach the sport, but to teach the importance of teamwork, inclusion, and being a decent human. This camp failed miserably at these things. I think if you're attending with friends and allies in tow, it's fine. Otherwise, you're completely on your own. We made her stick it out - picking her up after 2 of the 3 days, and I wish I had come sooner.

I had the opposite experience this summer with my daughter's camp registration. My daughter was signed up for a field hockey camp on a college campus in MA, which is no longer hosting camps due to COVID-19. I was offered a voucher from Revolution Field Hockey, however preferred a refund. I sent an email to Revo and received a prompt reply with my options (voucher; partial refund and partial voucher, or refund - with admin costs subtracted out). The refund was issued an hour after I confirmed my choice.
