Rancho Escondido Therapeutic Riding (RETREAT) is a nonprofit in Anthony offering therapeutic and traditional horseback riding to children and adults of all abilities, including those with autism, cerebral palsy, and other disabilities. Its week-long summer horse camp combines horseback riding with crafts and games, with instructors trained in evidence-based intervention practices. (The organization canceled its 2024 summer camp.)

They accommodate all levels of riders and they truly do care for their horses. They are very Military friendly. The trainers are very experienced and do a good job of teaching the basics, to include everything from how to groom and saddle thr horse. It's a very family friendly environment. If you are considering taking lessons or even volunteering, you must check out Rancho!
