The Port Aransas Art Center is a nonprofit community art center (104 N. Alister St.) that hosts week-long summer kids' art classes, often partnering with area schools, with classes of about 15 students. Sessions such as an 'Under the Sea' camp run half-day (e.g., 1-4pm) with supplies and snacks provided; some are free. The 4,000-square-foot center also offers workshops and family activities.

If you visit Port Aransas, the Art Center is well worth the time to have fun and view some great art pieces. The art is also for sale at reasonable prices.

There was a very nice lady and gentleman running it, they were very nice letting me sit and sift even offering wine. I definitely spent more than I needed to but not as much as I could have because there were so many great pieces. I did notice that they had community art area so it is really cool they do classes because we like to support local. The small note card sized prints ended looking great in frames that we got from Hobby Lobby, it was 3 cards per frame with matting.

Coming in the gallery makes a great day activity for all the family, kids will love to look at fun art, parents will love the amazing photography, and if your walls are all occupied, there is gorgeous wearable art, hand made one of a kind jewelry, statement pieces and other small souvenirs. There was a lot of variety to see: paintings, sculpture, stained glass, jewelry, photography. I saw several pieces I really liked. There were snacks and drinks (wine, punch, and a mixed drink) and live music which was nice. I went with my friend and we both had a very nice time.
