We’ve been part of Point Loma Youth Football since 2023, and with three of my boys playing on three different teams, it has truly become part of our family’s life. Not only have my sons grown as athletes, but I’ve watched them build confidence, character, and discipline that carries far beyond the football field. As a parent, and also as a Volunteer for the organization, I’ve had the opportunity to see firsthand how much heart goes into this league. The coaches and board members are incredibly dedicated and truly care about developing these kids not just as players, but as young people. They lead with accountability, mentorship, and a genuine investment in every athlete. What makes this league special is the community that has truly become like family. There is a real sense of support between families, coaches, and players that makes it feel like much more than just a sports program. This will be our fourth season, and we wouldn’t consider going anywhere else.

My family and I have been with this organization for almost a decade and it has truly been one of the best experiences that we’ve ever had in a youth sports league! My hubby has been a volunteer coach since the inception of the flag football team, and we’ve formed friendships with many of the other families that will undoubtedly last a lifetime. My son has absolutely flourished into an incredibly talented athlete within PLYF (where we successfully won not 1, but 2 championships), but even more importantly, a young, respected leader off the field based on all of his phenomenal coaches. I have also had the pleasure of serving as a Team Mom, Board Member and volunteer throughout the years, and have worked alongside some extraordinary individuals. The meaningful experiences that we’ve shared together have been priceless - from our end of year “Espy” style sports banquets celebrating our players and cheerleaders, to numerous outings with all of our families, to playing scrimmage games at SoFi Stadium. That said, as we transition into our last year with PLYF, its definitely bittersweet to think about leaving such an amazing program. I highly recommend PLYF to any family looking for the best of the best in a youth football league - trust me, you won’t be disappointed!

Our family has had such a wonderful experience with Point Loma Youth Football, and this year marks our 5th season returning. We continue to come back because of the incredible league, the dedicated coaching staff, and the amazing families who make up this community. The coaches truly care about the kids and focus not only on football skills but also on teamwork, confidence, and character. It’s been amazing to watch my son grow both as an athlete and as a person through this program. Point Loma Youth Football has created a supportive, family-oriented environment where kids feel encouraged and excited to play. The friendships, mentorship, and positive impact it has had on my son’s life are something we are incredibly grateful for. This was our first year at Pop Warner Point Loma, and honestly it’s been the best experience we’ve had so far. I have two 10-year-olds who have been playing football since they were 5, so we’ve been around a few different programs. Communication has been solid, the coaches have been great, and the kids have really enjoyed their teammates. It’s not perfect, but you can tell the board is made up of parents and volunteers who genuinely care about the kids and work hard to make sure they have a safe and positive experience. We’re really happy here and hope to stay until my boys age out.

I understand how frustration leads to a 1 star review, but I have had a very positive experience this year at PLYF. This was our first year and had 2 boys in the program (Flag and 12U). Compared to the other 2 Pop Warner programs we have been a part of in another state and here in SD, this stacks right up there with a high-quality program. This is a massive organization and it is impossible to make it perfect for everyone. Courtney has been very communicative and truly cares about giving the kids a positive experience, as evidenced by getting multiple teams to play at SoFi this year. The board and volunteers are top notch and friendly and do their best to make this a family environment. Highly recommend
