The Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival, in residence at DeSales University's Labuda Center in Center Valley, runs week-long summer camps for grades K-8 that bring Shakespeare's stories to life through movement, music, crafts and collaborative play. Junior Bards serves grades 3-5 and the Young Shakespeare Ensemble serves grades 6-8, both meeting July 20-24 from 9am to 3pm. For older students, PSF and DeSales co-run a pre-college Summer Theatre Institute in which students train with professional actors by day and watch them perform at night, with an option to live on campus.

The best thing about Shakespeare festivals is the opportunity to see the less oft produced plays, and that’s true about the PA Shakespeare Festival as well! The acting was good - one of my favorite actors from Philly was there. The location is good though they could use more parking that’s close by. But there’s plenty of other things to do in the area.

This has become a thing for my son and I. We enjoy the close proximity to the stage, the actors are great, and so close to home. We checked out Hamlet this last time, and it was excellent.

Great experience seeing The Producers. The cast was amazing and did a fantastic job. Parking was easy to find and signs were prominent to guide us to where we needed to go. We're excited to go back for another show hopefully this year, and we're hoping to try dinner on the terrace pre performance.

It was our first time attending the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival at DeSales University and it was such a treat. We watched Sense and Sensibility on their opening night and it was fantastic. It was so funny and the acting was wonderful. My girls ages 8-11 enjoyed it immensely. It took a quick hour to get there. There was outdoor seating and live music an hour before the show. They also were selling food and desserts. What a lovely experience.

Act 1 DeSales University Performing Arts is located in Center Valley Pa and our family really enjoy coming to watch professional and inspiring live shows performed by students and faculty & staff artists. This mother's day, I watched The Sound of Music with my 3 children and my husband. We were so lucky to get the tickets since sold out quickly. I can't wait till next season.
