Children and adults with disabilities, ages 6 and up, take private ski and snowboard lessons on winter weekends with the nonprofit Pennsylvania Center for Adapted Sports. Instructors specialize in mono-ski, bi-ski, 3-track, 4-track and guided skiing for people with visual impairments, and the program also supports skiers who are deaf, hard of hearing or have intellectual disabilities. Lessons meet at Camelback Mountain in Tannersville, in the Poconos. The nonprofit's week-long Youth Ski Camp for children with physical disabilities has produced two Paralympians.
