The Kenneth D. Welch Outdoor Learning Center is a 34.5-acre wooded Katy ISD facility that runs an optional summer recreation program for students entering grades 4-6. Sessions are two weeks long, meeting Monday-Thursday for about 90 minutes a day (a short program, not a full-day camp), with farm animals, nature arts and crafts, and cooking without modern conveniences. Classes are capped at 16 students.
