Youth and adults with disabilities take adaptive ski, snowboard and Nordic lessons with Oregon Adaptive Sports, a nonprofit based in Bend, Oregon. Its CamPAH weekend helps Deaf and hard of hearing youth ages 10 to 19 learn or improve their skiing or snowboarding with coaches fluent in sign language. At Mt. Bachelor near Bend, lessons start at its office in Sunrise Lodge, and Hoodoo Ski Area hosts both lessons and CamPAH. New athletes can take their first three alpine lessons on a full scholarship, and partial scholarships are available after that.
