The Westside Optimist Baseball Fields are a three-field youth baseball complex on Springfield's west side, operated by the Westside Optimist Club, which has served Ozarks kids since 1958. The fields host recreational league play for players roughly ages 5 to 13. This listing is a ballfield/league venue, not a summer camp.

Metro league is great..fields have seen a lot of upgrades over the past few years. Not sure what's with all the baseball snobs whining about a not for profit field not being perfect. Sheesh, the place is taken care of by volunteers and not existing for profit. Guessing they drive their Lexus to the game and watch their kiddos from their cars while eating off a charcuterie board. I can never understand lame whiny parents... your kids will mirror you

This is an absolute joke. $250 for my son to play. We got sponsorship for $500.... for us to show up to games and have to pay to attend each game in a field that's falling apart. Then to find out there aren't enough players on the team so we have 6/ 9 players. Onw of the head coaches is my sons age and a kid himself. There is NO coaching occuring. My son who's an actual player gets stuck in outfield when the subs are playing catcher. Then to top it all off the ump is actuallying wearing hey dudes to ump the game. DO NOT WASTE UR TIME OR MONEY.

Did anybody have any idea that there is a creek basically in the middle of Springfield MO yet sits right outside of the city limits line! It's also located behind the baseball fields! There is also another park behind the fields! It's very old and is called Over Hill Park! It's in memory of three judges back in the day if I remember correctly! Beautiful And peaceful!

All 3 ball fields well maintained. Concessions normally available. Restrooms normally well stocked. Improvements underway re: dugouts and more. Parking occasionally a slight problem. Not a perfect park but a very, very good one. Bring a chair and possibly an umbrella as limited seating available in the covered stands.

I was pleasantly surprised by these fields. they have 3 fields here that appeared well maintained. They also had umpire staff that were on time and fair during the games. I wish more of the fields and clubs in Springfield were as nice as these were. They also had a snack bar area that offered snacks and drinks.
