Haven't been there in 2004,but I can remember like it was yesterday. Amazing scenery, close to Garrett family Chapel. Busy with activities like sailboating, water skiing, archery, and a unbeatable view. Would recommend 5 out of 5. Great and safe place to send the kids. Very vetted staff with a nurse on site.

I went to this place when I was around 9 years old (I’m 15 now) and this place was literally amazing and I’m so happy I got to experience it. We got to pick a water activity we had to do everyday and we got to choose a new water activity we could pick each day too same with land activities. We had plays, music, campfires singing. Got to send note to our parents to tell them how we were doing. Got our own dressers. We even had a “party” the last day got to pick music and even danced on tables. And the bus there was awesome too lol. definitely recommend if you have the option to send your kids! Food was great as well

I went to this camp when I was 14, I am now 22. It is by far the best camp I’ve ever gone too! Everyday was full of great food, activities, peers, and staff. Suffolk County Sheriff’s department sent us prepared with jackets, sleeping bags, and a backpack full of essentials. I never thought a summer camp would have such an impact on my life the way this camp does. I left camp inspired to trying new things and meeting new friends. I hope to send my future children, highly recommended.

My twin brother and I were two of the lucky children selected to attend Sheriff's camp in 1992. With the passing of our mother a few months earlier, in turn leaving us as orphans, life was filled with so many uncertainties. When I was informed I was going to camp, I was anxious and scared as I had never attended a sleep away camp. My memories from that one week, nearly thirty years ago, are so vivid. The camp counselors were so friendly, inviting, and very enthusiastic. They insisted we were going to have the time of our lives, well they weren't kidding! We gathered around campfires, sang songs, raced, swam, and laughed. We were given options of different activities to choose from; a few of my favorites were sailing and bike riding. I was able to forget about the uncertainties of my own life, overcome fears, and gain coping skills, in that one short week. It turned into a lifetime of memories and I am so grateful for the experience. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the opportunity you afforded me so many years ago. Thank you, also to the community, whose donations make this possible. I now donate every year in hopes of these deserving children cherish the memories as much as I have.
