NXGA (Nexus of Guardian Art) is a martial arts and movement academy at 523 Sower Drive in Bayfield teaching Guardian Art, a Native American ancestral fighting art rooted in the original game of lacrosse. Classes mix parkour, mixed martial arts, acrobatics and self-defense, with typical sessions covering self-defense moves, climbing, striking, grappling and spirit running, offered in person and virtually for ages 3 through adult. The academy bought a property near Forest Lakes to host summer camps, and its nonprofit arm Guardian Saga runs camps and training programs that draw Indigenous, rural and underprivileged youth from across North America. As well as not just training physically but also mentally. It's not just about having a strong body but a strong mind as well. Also, there are a lot of awesome camps, ceremonies and activities you can do through Guardian Art.
