As a parent I looked for the best artistic technique and structure. I was very impressed with the focus on these features and much more. The director organized trips to major ballet companies and to auditions for acclaimed summer programs. Staff instructed students step by step on how to audition for academic and then professional positions. My son was accepted to top level schools/pre-professional and colleges along with the most renowned ballet companies. Schools offered full tuition, merit based scholarships since he was 12. He attended Juilliard and became a soloist with several companies nationwide. At 18 his weekly salary as a guest artist was in the 1,000's. My daughter went on to earn 2 degrees in the performing arts, was college dance team captain, danced in Europe for college credit and danced for UF and graduated. Both my children taught at NFB as did many students. NFB nurtures and promotes from within. As the single parent of very productive and accomplished adults, I'm incredibly fortunate to have found NFB.
