Captain Ryan Beckman made us all feel safe to explore our potentials as sailors while also helping to instill confidence in our abilities to execute appointed duties. The 4 days of instruction and living aboard were integral to the experience. I truly feel I am not the person I was before this class. I was a student, unsure and questioning. I am now a much more confident person in general and feel ready to crest that horizon, preferably on a strong wave.
★Lynne DeanThe owner and guy testing for his instructor cert treated me poorly as a woman. They teased me and dissed my sailing experience. Very old school behavior that has no business especially in a sailing school offering advanced classes (I was taking ASA106). I also found answers to questions by me and another student were brushed off. On top of that, the boat didn't have working bilge pumps which led to a lot of black water and mold on the boat which subsequently made me sick.

Captain Thom was very accommodating with my schedule. He assessed my skill level and experience and adjusted the course to fit my advanced level. He offered extra advice and tips expand my knowledge. Great instructor. I had a blast. His sailboat is simple to learn on, he has everything labeled and walks you through every step of becoming a advanced sailor. Would recommend at anyone interested in learning how to sail.

Tom (the owner) and his team were very accommodating and communicative leading up to our trip. Guy Wray was our instructor and he was terrific. He engaged my 2 boys (8 and 10) and my wife in the experience in a way that made it fun and educational. Guy's persistent anglo/aussie humor was fun and we understood many of his jokes. Guy reviewed every single answer that I had wrong on the 3 written tests and made sure that I understood the material. I truly feel confident in my ability to skipper a boat as a result of the on the boat and written training. I highly recommend this experience to anyone serious about bareboat chartering sailboats.
