NOMAD Farms
Private
NOMAD Farms is a regenerative livestock farm in Tobaccoville that runs one-week summer day camps, roughly 9am to 2pm, for children ages 6 to 12. Campers work alongside the farmer and staff to care for pasture-raised cows, sheep, pigs, chickens, and turkeys while learning about clean food production, animal husbandry, sustainability, and land conservation.

I couldn’t possibly encapsulate just how much fun my son had at this camp in a review, but I’ll do my best. He’s been to many camps in the area, and this one was his absolute favorite. He was excited every day to get to camp and came home full of fun stories each afternoon. It’s amazing how they can take something as challenging as farm work and make it so enjoyable and educational. I was only able to get him in for one week because it (rightfully) sells out extremely quickly. The staff were so wonderful, and I swear I’ve never seen such cheery and involved teenagers—they must be doing something right, lol. I couldn’t recommend the camp more, and we will definitely be signing him up again for as many weeks as we can next year. Beyond the camp, their meats are fantastic as well.
My 9 year old daughter insisted on attending Nomad for 3 sessions this summer because she LOVES Nomad. This girl has attended practically ever camp in town over the past 4 years and Nomad is by far her favorite. They keep her moving all day long, she is LEARNING (and she doesn't even realize it), and the counselors are amazing. The love and care that Nomad puts into their camp programming is so awesome. As a working parent, I'm grateful for Nomad, knowing that my daughter is having the time of her life in a safe, loving environment. Thank you Nomad!
NOMAD farm camp is the "best week of the summer" in our household. The setting is amazing, the activities are super fun & engaging, but what our kids love most is the PEOPLE. Each day my kids come home tired, sweaty, and grinning from ear to ear. We are thankful to have been a part of farm camp for the past 7 years and counting!
My kids go every year. They always learn so much and have a great time!
