Powered by GoogleI bought my husband dance classes for his birthday here and I wasn’t sure what to expect… this was quite literally one of the best experiences we’ve had as a couple. We got the 5 pack individual lessons with Luis and have just had the most amazing time. Luis was an INCREDIBLE instructor, and he was also funny, kind, and understanding. I could not recommend Nexus enough!!!
It is so incredibly daunting to start dance as an adult beginner. When I started searching for beginning dance lessons in SLO, all I found were classes with age ranges from 7–10 and 12–14—until Nexus. It has been such a gift to have a dance studio where you are fully supported and embraced as an adult beginner. I would especially recommend the Klave Friday Night Latin Socials and the monthly West Coast Swing social, Whip It! If you have ever wanted to try dance for the first time as an adult but didn't know where to start this is your sign to give it a try!
Nexus Dance Studio is AMAZING! If you’re looking for a fun, welcoming space to dance your heart out, this is it. They offer everything from ballroom, tango, and salsa to their brand-new fitness program, and every single class is freaking fabulous! I’ve taken Zumba, hip-hop, belly dancing, barre, and ballroom, and let me tell you—every one of them is an absolute blast. The instructors are so talented and encouraging, and the energy in the studio is just electric. Whether you’re a total beginner or you’ve been dancing for years, they make you feel right at home. Plus, it’s not just about dance—it’s about building a community and having fun while getting a great workout. If you want to move, sweat, and smile your way through life, Nexus Dance Studio is where it’s at. Seriously, go check it out—you’ll thank me later!
My now husband and I loved working with Alicia on our first dance. We were total beginners but our lessons made us feel comfortable and confident!!! Wedding planning can be overwhelming but our dance classes were such a fun way to relax and connect with one another during this busy time. We had so much fun that we plan on trying out some of the classes and events that Nexus offers moving forward. I would highly highly recommend working with Alicia!!
My very first dance and salsa lessons ever, I was really nervous but everyone was so friendly and instructors met you at your comfort level. I signed up for the month beginner classes. They start at 8 and after there is a social that you can try all the moves you just learned. I highly recommend to anyone first getting started to consider private lessons, I took 2 because I wanted to get to a level I felt comfortable / fast track since I’m heading to South America and wanted to be able to dance better there. Really cool space and multiple types of dances you can take. Their Instagram is a great way to stay informed on new events and classes. Shoes, just don’t have super grip ones. You get to try dancing with multiple partners which helped with see how other followers work. I recommend this studio a lot and loved my experience!
