Definitely DO NOT recommend! Even though it’s been one of the cheaper leagues I would not suggest them! Their communication is horrible and they don’t seem to care. My boys “forfeited” their playoff game because YAFL switched the bracket around and their game got moved up by two hours. They did not even tell the coach. One simple text, call or email. And we were checking the website regularly. And as far as the bracket, they changed the match ups and it was not the standard seven team bracket match up that they had for all the other ages.

Very disappointed. I was planning on enrolling my child in YAFL, but after seeing so many bad reviews and speaking with people I know who have their kids there, I decided against it. They told me the coaches always show favoritism toward the same kids and leave the rest out. On top of that, they seem very irresponsible. A family friend shared that her child was often left out and came home crying because he was never allowed to play. On top of that during one of the games, she saw her child crying because they didn’t let him play throughout the whole game. What’s worse is that there were five coaches present, and not one of them stepped in to do anything, even though they clearly saw what was happening or even cared to ask if he was okay. It’s outrageous and deeply concerning to see such a lack of care, fairness, and responsibility toward the kids.

Horrible experience with this type of league. I had one of the worst experiences with my son thanks to YAFL. See how the staff, president, and coaches don't care about the children's mental health. They keep them under constant stress. Please listen to your children when they tell you they no longer want to go to practice, much less play. An environment of discrimination and favoritism on the part of the coaches. They constantly ask for money for the team under the lie that it's voluntary, but they still pressure you to contribute more each week. Management doesn't even take you into account when you raise your voice to complain about a coach who isn't being professional in his work. I would never refer anyone in this league. Please, parents, take care of your children.

NMYFL- Has been a great opportunity for youth to build character. Learn a positive great unique American sport. Grow there self confidence. Learn how to be member of playing on a team sport. Tackle football is our sons ( Jacob ) favorite sport. He's been a Rio Grande Raven for three seasons. This last year he has switched to Monzano Monarchs. We loved being Ravens and now we love being Monarchs. The coaches have been very good . As have the NMYFL- office management. Such a huge positive experience for our community and my family. We R all lucky to have this league here.

The All-Stars is a joke. This is the first year my son got picked. They didn’t have it organized. I backed out of the All-Stars due to them not being organized. My son only had seven kids on their team and the other team for the head coach that was running it , had almost over 20. I backed out of it because I didn’t feel it was right we asked if we all can practice together. He did not want to do it as in Coach Clifton so they went and got second options but my son earned this those kids are playing for the All-Stars on Sunday didn’t earn the All-Star position. they were so hungry for more players that they just called around and got whoever they could. And when we asked to practice together, he said no he had his pick. But now all of them are I practicing together. I feel this was not organized right as now my son hurts knowing he was an all-star, but can’t play because you guys chose people that are not the true All-Stars to play for the All-Star game. I feel if you’re gonna do this To the kids you need to be more organized, let’s think about the kids. Let’s not be selfish. My son is a true All-Star. Thank you
