I’m going to share a little secret with you. Even though I’m a Mainer born and raised, I didn’t learn about Netop Summer Camp in Casco, Maine until nearly reaching 50 years old. Yes, it’s that much of a hidden gem! Maine is magical and even more so is seeing a young individual grow in character, confidence, and sense-of-self after an incredible summer camp experience at Netop. If you have a son, grandson, relative or friend who is a boy ages 8-16, check out Netop, you’ll be so glad you did! I can tell you from personal experience my son benefitted in ways I never imagined from attending Netop for the past two summers. And you can be sure he didn’t leave this year without registering for Summer 2024 to secure his spot. We are so grateful to be part of the Netop family.

Our youngest is currently at Netop, and our 2 older boys (16 and 18) went to Netop Summer Camp as well. By far this is the best experience we could have given to them- To go to a place where boys learn about community, kindness, teamwork, goal setting, and most of all a strong feeling of belonging and having so much fun in a supportive environment with fantastic role models- it’s the best!! I cannot recommend this camp enough. I am a school nurse, and I researched the heck out of this place, even though lots of families I know have sent their kids, and had a wonderful experience. The head staff are mostly teaches, and the counselors there used to be campers at Netop, and are rigorously trained and educated to be great counselors. Two of our kids have had some significant challenges with school, academics, not being sporty, etc, and their confidence and self esteem had suffered. Netop was a fantastic safe place where they celebrate the life of a boy. You see an amazing difference when you pick your kids up at camp- they are mire introspective, happier, confident... you have to see it to believe it. It is the best investment that we’ve ever made. If you’re thinking of sending your son or sons- do it!!

Holy Cow. I can't believe I found this. I was an 18 year old camp counselor at Camp Netop during the summer of 1971. Without reserve that was the best summer, and likely the best time of my life. What an amazing experience for me, and I suggest for everyone there. I am from Tennessee. One of my hometown friends found Netop in some kind of a summer job directory and we loaded up and drove to Maine for the summer. There were three of us from the south, my friend, a young man (boy) from Florida and me. On the way to breakfast in the mornings the three of us would start singing Dixie, where upon, on que, every time, the ENTIRE camp would break out singing Yankee Doodle and drown us out. I won a Netop Sunday by teaching a chip monk to climb my pants and take a peanut out of my pocket. It took a while but I did it. I am almost in tears thinking about this. What a great place. If you are ever thinking of sending your children to a camp in Maine this is it. Wonderful, wonderful place and I am so happy it is still there. David Grant Howard Knoxville, Tennessee

I was a camper back in the 70's and to this day there isn't a summer I don't wish I could be transported back. Ken Truscott and David Webster really created something special. I'll never forget them or the whole Truscott family. Not only did they create a institution for learning, playing and celebrating youth, but they instilled integrity, honesty, and kindness toward one another. Values that to this day I hold dear. It was and forever will be one of the best times of my life.
