Music Academy of the West runs a two-week residential High School Intensive each summer for up to 105 instrumental, piano, and conducting students ages 14-18 on its Santa Barbara (Montecito) campus. Tuition of about $6,000 includes housing, three daily meals, private instruction, masterclasses, and performances as part of the Academy's summer festival. Admission is by audition and the program targets serious, pre-professional young musicians rather than beginners.
