Murie Science & Learning Center
The Murie Science and Learning Center is a National Park Service learning center in Denali National Park that hosts Denali Discovery Camp, a summer program run with the Denali Education Center for ages 6-14. Campers explore the park's natural history through hands-on activities, hikes, games, and, for some age groups, camping out.

★★★★★Tell Your Cat I Said PspspspsIn the winter this learning centre serves as the winter visitor centre and ranger station. We visited March 13. Most of the park was still snowed in but the road was open until Mile 13. Special shout out to Park Ranger Damien who was so super nice and helpful to us as we planned our day out! As daily weather conditions are different each day plus the accessibility of different trails in the snow and ice differ - one must plan adequately. We felt so lucky we had all our questions answered and a lively chat about all the wild animal sightings over the last few days and which trails others had been snow shoeing on. We were also concerned about renting and returning the snow shoes as the visitor center closes at 5 pm but in March the sunset is close to 8 pm and we planned on staying out until then. We were told the snow shoes could be returned in the vestibule between the two doors whenever we left if it was after they had closed up and we only had to write our name and phone number to check them out! How insane is it that the NPS allows free snow shoeing rentals at Denali?! Love these guys! And of course they have the usual stuff - informative exhibits, souvenirs, and national park passport stamps.
★★★★★Michael LoweVery educational and entertaining visit for kids and adults alike. Short walk from the visitors center - just follow the dinosaur foot prints! For people collecting stamps in their passport, there as an extra stamp spot here! It was less busy than the main visitors area and it has dinosaur fossils. Educational displays on the flora and fauna of the area as well as bathrooms for visitors. This was a great small side trip on our visit to Denali.
★★★★★DonnaA must place to stop for information, photo ops, educational material, and its relevance to those who want their National Park Passport get stamped. Also, the place to lease (borrow) gear for snowshoeing. Across the street is another building where you can have a meal (we have packed lunch) while watching short films about Denali Sled Dog. There are 2 park staff that answer questions and provide needed information. The place is small but with a clean restroom. I am glad they have a place such as this for wintertime.
★★★★★Super Sweet JaneCheck web site for business hours before you go. It’s usually around 1-3pm for spring/summer time. The science lab has hands-on lab activities good for all ages. The exhibition is very informative. Definitely you should stop here for things to do in Denali, very kids friendly!
