The Gypsum Recreation Center is a Mountain Recreation district facility that hosts the district's Rec Kids day camps and specialty summer camps for school-age children. Rec Kids campers spend the day on games, crafts, playground time and afternoon swimming, walk to the Gypsum Public Library once a week, and have movie days on Fridays. The center also runs Explorer Camps (ages 6-10, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.), Sports Camps with structured coaching and open gym (ages 5-12, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.), and a half-day Ninja/Parkour camp (ages 5-12, 9 a.m. to noon). Rec Kids day camps are eligible for Colorado Child Care Assistance Program (CCCAP) support.
