Our experience with the Apex 2015 team at Montgomery United during the 2025-2026 season was very disappointing. This was our second year with the club and our second year on the Apex team. Our first year was a positive experience. However, this year under the new coaching leadership was extremely different. My son was selected for the top team (Apex), and we committed significant time and financial investment expecting a competitive, merit-based development environment. Instead, after several months, he consistently received extremely limited playing time (often just 2–3 minutes per game). During games and tournaments, guest players and players from other age groups were given extended playing time while roster players like my son continued to see minimal minutes. Over time, this began affecting my son’s confidence and overall development. We raised our concerns with the club. The response was that our son could move to the second team. Given the expectations set at the beginning of the season, this did not align with what was communicated to us. We ultimately chose to leave the program and dispute the costs. Parents considering Apex 2015 should ask very specific questions about playing time philosophy, roster management, and development expectations before committing.
