Monterey County Dance Theatre is a King City dance school with pre-school, student and adult divisions running a 10-month curriculum. ★Alejandra RojasI’ve finally felt ready to share my experience. While this studio has an amazing reputation, my time there was mentally and physically harmful. The focus on weight caused me to lose an unhealthy amount of weight, develop anorexia, and even require hospitalization. Instead of support, I was praised for losing weight, even when it was dangerous. Ballet is something I love, but this studio and teacher are not a safe environment for dancers, and I cannot recommend it based on my experience.

But my family member started teaching some ballet classes and Janette came to her own home and cussed and screamed at her. I have ZERO respect for this person. That’s enough to make anyone upset.
