I was really supposed before I got sick, now I'm back, and I loved seeing all the friendly faces. My health is very important to me, so it's nice to have some much available too me to get the exercise I need. Thank everyone who's smiled and greeted me so friendly. Right on

I have been a member of the Ocean Springs YMCA since 2017, and recently rejoined mainly for child watch and for preschool for my two babies. Today, I experienced an employee Wendy yelling at me for going the wrong way on the track upstairs after coming out of a workout class, and while I understand I was going the wrong way (I’m often running behind trying to pick kids up, Drop them off, go to work so no I do not pay attention to every detail even if it’s signs up, I’m normally straight visioned ahead) the tone of her voice, lack of empathy, patience, and out right rudeness was utterly shocking. I have never experienced this type of disrespect from an employee at a gym. She was screaming yelling At me like I was her child, and worse when I asked to speak to management about it, she defended her actions saying “we do have to follow the rules and go the right way.” When it’s not just about the rules, but how you deal with people especially when you deal with them in this type of environment daily. Confrontation in this climate especially in the workplace should be avoided at all cost especially when yelling and belittling members no matter what wrong action is being done there is a right and wrong way to speak to people in the public and yelling by far is not it. This incident alone with no management holding her accountable is reasons to want to end my membership here and find somewhere else where they speak kindly and respect members in all Situations. A respectful pause to say “excuse me ma’am you have to go this way” in a soft tone would’ve sufficed just fine, but yelling, pointing fingers, and continuing to engage in talking when I’ve told you I’m going the right way now and to stop talking to me, is out of line point blank Period especially as an employee and I’m a paying member who has never caused any trouble here other than “going the wrong way on the wrong day” after 11 years 😑 Highly disappointed and rattled up on the cold, Monday morning.

Even if you cancel your membership, they will start charging you again and bill it under a different name. Director Debra Ware will blame you for stealing your money and refuses to refund the amount.

As a mom of three, I can’t say enough good things about the YMCA. It’s such a relief to have a place where the whole family feels welcome. My kids love the activities, I love having a safe and positive environment for them, and there’s something for everyone no matter what stage of life you’re in. It’s not just about fitness — it’s about community, wellness, and having a place where families can grow toget

We were members for all most a year when they went and changed their policy restricting my son from going with me to the one workout room he used with me. It was really nice up untill that point. Even though we've been there hundreds of times they didn't care. We were forced to cancel. This is something we do as a family and I refuse to cut a member out to a policy change. He was extremely upset. Follow up. We were in the gym when we canceled the membership. Asked if there was anything we needed to do and they said no. We were billed the following month...... Upon going back to the gym to address the issue one of the staff members said that the information we were provided was incorrect and that my son could have attended.... That would have been nice if the statement following form the same incompetent individual that gave me the wrong information hadn't immediately said, "don't know how that will work not that you've canceled". This was more then just a gym for us it was a way for us to spend time together as a family. Due to the incompetence of this staff, and the insensitivity toward this situation, we will not be coming back.
