No steam room NO RACKETBALL COURTS! Even though I was shown racket ball courts; they said were being remodeled 5 months ago before I joined. Now they are taking them away. Everyone knows how important for health racket ball is because it uses the brain to coordinate the entire body with movement.

Some lifeguards at the swimming pool are unreasonable, they need to be trained to have the same reasonable expectation standards as judges, prosecutors, police officers, and courts are. Tonight, I was blowing off some bubbles underwater in the pool, no big deal. A female blonde lifeguard, dunno her name, tells me I can't do breath holding activities. But blowing off bubbles and the no breath holding rule obviously and physically don't equate. She needs to be retrained and reprimanded. I have two other instances of lifeguards being unreasonable, one for me and one for other people. But I'll save those war stories for another time. Point out, my papa was in the Bureau of Fire Protection's EMS Divison in the 1990s as a firefighter and ambulance nurse, a lifeguard in Qatar when not on duty as an ambulance nurse for the Qatar Red Crescent, dialysis nurse in Saudi Arabia, and offshore ship nurse in Europe, on the Pioneering Spirit. He said my blowing bubbles underwater is not dangerous. Plus, I have done this elsewhere for years without problems. Minot YMCA, your lifeguards need some serious punishing reprimands and severe retraining. If your people keep on being like this, I don't know what to do.

Excellent facility that is well maintained and clean. Two separate weight areas, one is more casual near the cardio equipment and the other dedicate to heavy weightlifting. Even at busy times there is generally enough equipment to keep yourself moving through a workout. If you can’t then you aren’t being creative enough with your exercises. There is also a CrossFit group that has their own space, a dedicated circuit training area, and plyometrics spaces and equipment near the track. The hot tub, dry sauna, and steam rooms located within each of the adult locker rooms is a huge benefit that sets this facility apart from the ordinary gym. There are also small lockers to rent out on a monthly/yearly basis that are extremely affordable. The staff is always very friendly and welcomes you every time you come in the door. The membership fee is extremely affordable and they offer family packages and deals throughout the year to bring down your cost even more. It is a great all around facility and they are very accommodating.

I have been going here for 3+ years. During that time I’ve tried almost every machine, watched new machines come and go. It has been an fun place to work out, swim and climb. I will say, if you are annoyed with people hogging machines, do no come between 1pm-5pm. Terrible for people loitering on the machines and not actually working out, just socializing. Other than that, great place!
