Midwest Survival Swim is an Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) provider in O'Fallon offering survival swim instruction rather than a summer camp. Lessons are one-on-one and 15 minutes long, held four days a week across a roughly six-week session, teaching the swim-float-swim self-rescue method so a child can roll to their back to breathe. The program accepts children from about six months old, with most passing the two-minute float test in 20-24 lessons; maintenance lessons follow to build stroke skills. There is a $40 annual registration fee, waived for year-round swimmers.

Powered by GoogleI cannot say enough AMAZING things about Midwest Survival Swim! I have three year old twins who started when they were two. I only wish I would have started sooner. It’s incredible to see where they started from to where they are now! I’m no longer in constant panic when we are near water. I am confident that if something accidental happened, they know exactly what to do to get out. Hands down, the best money ever spent! Jess is INCREDIBLE!
If you want your child to swim and be safe in the pool, then this is the place to be. Within 3 weeks my 5 year old has been freestyle swimming and my 2 year old is floating on the back. It really is quite amazing how far they’ve come! Cannot recommend this program enough. We used YMCA at first. I now wish we didn’t do YMCA because they taught them terrible habits. This is where you want to be!
I cannot say enough GOOD things about Midwest Survival Swim and Ms. Jessica. She is structured and firm but also so fun and caring to the kids. She is extremely knowledgeable and taught me so much as a parent about swim safety. My daughter adored her. I have such a peace of mind knowing my daughter has the fundamentals of swimming, but also surviving if she were to slip/fall into a pool. We considered ISR, but I am so glad we went with Midwest Survival Swim. She has a much gentler/understanding approach and tailors each lesson to your child and their needs. Swim safety is SO important and if you are considering signing your child up, call Ms. Jess! You will not regret it!
I cannot recommend Jess and survival swim lessons enough. She was so kind and patient with my daughter and made her feel comfortable in the water while pushing and encouraging her to try new things! My almost 3.5 year old learned to float and swim in 6 weeks. We cannot say thank you enough to Jess for teaching our daughter these life saving skills!
I would 100% recommend Jess for safety swim lessons. My 2 year old and 4 year old both did her 6 week program. My 4 year old had some prior swim lessons and now, thanks to Jess, he can swim across the pool and is probably ready to join a swim team next summer. My 2 year old can safely float on her own and is starting to swim as well. Since Jess uses an indoor pool we plan on taking refresher courses through winter to keep them on top of their skills.
