I would not recommend this daycare. According to state licensing records, the facility has received multiple violations from the state board. The most recent violations, as of September 2025, include employing a staff member with a criminal conviction that legally disqualifies them from working with children, as well as repeat violations related to unsafe, unsanitary, and inoperable facility conditions. While the employee in question was reportedly terminated, additional documented violations raise ongoing concerns, including failure to complete required TB testing on time and missing reference documentation for staff members. These repeated compliance issues suggest a lack of consistent oversight and raise serious concerns about safety standards and staff management, particularly given the high turnover rate. Parents should review the state inspection reports carefully before enrolling their children.

My four year old child has been enrolled at MKA since he was eight months. In that time, he has been treated with care and love from staff members, made great friends, and had a lot of fun in class and with all the special events the school organizers. I feel like they’ve done a great job preparing him for kindergarten and with supporting his social-emotional development. The best recommendation I can give is that the kiddo seems to genuinely enjoy going to school each day to see his teachers and his friends.

My children attend Midlothian Kids Academy and I must say, our experience has been exceptional, largely due to the outstanding leadership of the director, Ms. Erica. One of the most impressive qualities of Ms. Erica is her ability to communicate effectively with both staff and parents. She fosters an environment of openness and trust, ensuring that everyone's voice is heard and valued. She is always approachable and responsive to my childrens’ needs. She is the reason we chose and will stay at MKA.

Avoid Midlothian Kids Academy at all costs. This daycare has extremely high staff turnover and poor supervision of the children. When my son moved to the two-year-old classroom, we were told they would help with potty training — but within a week they began complaining about accidents and even suggested we bring in Pampers. It was clear they just didn’t want to do their job. I refused, and ironically, my son’s potty training improved right after that. The food they serve is subpar — my son comes home hungry every day. Classrooms are often combined because they’re short-staffed, creating chaos and disorganization. When incidents happen, they rarely communicate unless you call to ask what happened. One of the most concerning experiences was when my son came home with his face visibly swollen from crying. We were told he had a hard time going to sleep at nap time — but we picked him up at 5 p.m., which means he was left crying unattended for an extended period of time. That’s completely unacceptable and heartbreaking for any parent to hear. Worst of all, the director is dismissive and gaslights parents instead of being transparent or taking accountability. If you care about your child’s safety, nutrition, and emotional well-being, run far away from this place.
