MGR Swim Sports' Alamo Heights location at 1246 Austin Hwy in San Antonio teaches swimming in an indoor pool across more than 12 class levels with certified instructors. Its Learn To Swim program is built for children ages 4 to 10 and focuses on stroke mechanics and water-safety skills, and the school also offers adult learn-to-swim classes and adaptive, special-needs programming. Enrollment is rolling, so families can join at any time; it is a lesson program rather than a camp.

The Aqua Fitness class is helping me so much with flexibility and even losing a few pounds. The instructors are great and each of them help you use different muscles 💪

Started out good but the swim teacher did not like my child. He was impatient and I could see the change in his demeanor instantly change to irritated when he was teaching my 6 yr old who never had lessons befor. Couple time I almost grabbed my kid out of the pool to leave because he was crawling under my skin real quick with the way he was conducting himself. The instructor eventually stop communication with us, letting us know when he was going to be out, agenda for the next lesson, how her lesson went, etc. Funny though…, my kiddo did so well and showed more confidence with the sub instructors than her assigned instructor. I hope this instructor finds a new job because he has no patience with children, or understanding of any kind when it comes to working with kids. His name was Jack.😡👎🏼

Mgr swim sports has decent prices with good swim instructors. We have had exposure to several instructors. All were good. Most of the time we have been with coach Dave. In 1 year, my 8 year old son went from barely able to swim on front or back to nice form with the four major strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breast stroke, and butterfly. My younger daughter became pretty good at swimming for her young age as well. She started when she was barely 4 years old. I highly recommend mgr for swim lessons.

My son didn’t swim enough in 2020 and has forgotten how, so MGR to the rescue!! I’m very thankful that they are offering classes during this time. The kids certainly need it as swimming is a life skill!!! They are located inside the Golds gym. The gym staff is very friendly in what little interactions we have had. They have three restrooms with showers in the pool area for the kids to use after class, so they don’t have to go into the main locker room. Great coaches!! Good instruction time! Highly recommend!!

We love Coach Alexis. The kids have gained so much confidence with her, they really look up to her as a role model. I definitely recommend MGR swim and Coach Alexis.
