Meta Humans
Private
Meta Humans is a membership-based STEAM enrichment program in Winter Park for kids and teens ages 7 to 17, emphasizing science, systems, and storytelling through project-based learning. Its summer offering, called Meta Week, is a hands-on camp where small teams (6 or 12 campers with one to three educators) design, build, and test real projects. Families choose participation levels, and camp is one part of a flexible year-round membership; daily hours are not stated.

Powered by GoogleIn our experience, MetaHumans did not live up to its promises. The program initially seemed promising, but lacked structure and offered little meaningful instruction. Staff handled concerns in an unprofessional and dismissive manner. The value and learning outcomes did not match what was advertised. It was a disappointing experience for our family, and there are far better programs out there.
My son has attended Meta Humans for the last 7 months. We have had a great experience and has allowed my son to make a social connection with a lot of other kids. When we decided to go the homeschool route we were worried about social settings. We consider this a day long elective with different projects going on all the time. My son enjoys going to see his friends every week just like they would like going to a fun elective in school with a few friends. Overall we have had a great experience.
I enrolled our son in the Lego Robotics all-day camp at Metahumans after seeing their website promote a “summer filled with curiosity, innovation, science, entrepreneurship, games, and collaborative fun”. The camp cost $400, and we were excited about the engaging, STEM-focused experience it advertised. The morning sessions were as described and well-facilitated, providing my son with a great hands-on experience. However, the afternoons were a letdown. After lunch, the kids were left to choose their activities. My son ended up playing Minecraft online for nearly four hours every day. We didn't expect to pay $400 for what turned into a glorified hangout where he could do what he does at home for free. We had hoped for a more structured and robust program throughout the day. While Metahumans has many amazing features and potential, the lack of organized activities in the afternoons was disappointing. Unfortunately, based on this experience, we wouldn't recommend their summer camp program to other parents looking for a consistently engaging and educational experience.
Wow! We were lucky enough to find Meta Humans a few months ago and week after week we are blown away! The ideas for creative ways to engage the kids seem endless. The thoughtfulness and patience of the entire staff with the kids is so special. The design engages kids to feel excited about STEM from the first step and continues all the way through in every detail. There are not enough stars to share our positive experience. My son feels welcome, encouraged and inspired week after week. Thank you for creating such a special place. I genuinely encourage everyone to come and explore this place for yourself, just know that your kids won’t want to leave!
Our son loves Meta Humans! They offer various STEAM-based programs that are specifically designed to spark children's natural curiosity and educate with a hands-on, learn-through-application approach. He gets to explore his interests at his own pace,, gaining essential skills in technology, communication, and problem-solving, all while having a great time. The environment is unique with state-of-the-art equipment and a hip cyberpunk interior theme. The staff members are qualified and genuinely passionate about education and the well-being of the children. They create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere making it easy for the kids to develop a sense of belonging and connect with like-minded peers. Overall, an exceptional educational experience, highly recommended.
