We sent both our kids (5 and 6) to Meadowbrook for Summer 2023 after searching for a place that would encouraging, supportive, positive and promote good values. We were not disappointed! Each week there was an exciting theme and the kids were always thrilled to go to camp and unhappy when it was over. We sent them for the full summer day offering. The camp facilities were always clean and tidy and the number of campers was limited to a size where campers were not just a number. We did not utilize the lunch offering but did take advantage of the after care a handful of times when we had to be at work longer than expected. The counsellors were incredible. They knew each kid by name and always had a welcome and upbeat attitude with them. Even when there were some "learning/teaching moments" during camp, they were addressed with the camper and parent in a way that was encouraging and positive. As a parent, I always felt very involved and comfortable knowing what was going on and that my kids were safe and having fun. I also appreciated that the camp allowed the campers to have fun but also maintain some learning, via STEM, reading and art activities. I could tell that when my kids went back to school in the fall, this was a big asset to them getting back into the swing of things. Lastly, I was so touched when in September we received postcards from our respective counsellors recalling a special moment and memory they had with each child and wishing them a wonderful year. I thought that was just so thoughtful and made me appreciate Meadowbrook so much. While we wont be returning this year, since my son ages out of the full day camp program, I cannot recommend Meadowbrook enough to anyone who is looking for a wonderful camp experience.
