The Mauldin Cultural Center, a municipal arts venue, offers week-long theatre summer camps for children. ★★★★★Jocelyn EmersonWhat an amazing experience! Saw "Rent" last night (11/21). I am a super fan of the original Broadway cast, but this group of local actors did NOT disappoint. Brayden Lee is on par with Wilson Jermaine Heredia, playing Angel, as far as I am concerned. Jesse L Martin sets a pretty high bar as Tom Collins, but Caleb Jackson hit the mark. The theater itself, allows you to feel like you are part of the production and in this case, at times, you were!! The only problem I had was that there were empty seats and that's on the community. Every seat should have been filled!! Side note to anyone attending any kind of public entertainment, if you are there to hang out with friends, please choose another type of event. Your conversations during the performance are not only disrespectful to the performers, they are annoying to those of us trying to enjoy the event!! Viva La Vie Boheme!!
★★★★★Scott TulkWe went to the Blues and Jazz festival held here. Nice large venue was a perfect spot for this with a good amount of shade spots and nice clean bathrooms! Plenty of food trucks are located steps away, offering plenty of eats and drinks. Also, other places well within walking distance if you wanted something else. We had a great time and the music was fantastic! Gotta love Mac Arnold and Platefull of Blues! I hope they host it here again next year!
