Powered by GoogleSharmba- We have been apart of Martell School of Dance for 15 years. This is not only an amazing dance studio but they have become our family. I have 3 daughters who have danced here my oldest currently on staff teaching different styles of dance herself now. My middle daughter will get her 15 year award this year and my youngest daughter will get her 10th year award. But wow get ready for a lengthy review. I was a Single mom with two daughters when we I noticed this studio when driving by one day. I was Nervous walking into this place thinking there’s no way I can afford this only to be greater by the amazing previous owner Jennifer and Mrs. Duey who was working the front desk and wow who would have know the impact they and all the staff would have on our life. They made me feel comfortable, worked with me on tuition, and my girls had a place to call their second home. Fast forward to a few years later when I had my third daughter. Who started dancing at age 2. Nonverbal, not potty trained later diagnosed with autism and adhd. She couldn’t get through more thank 15 mins of classes but yet I was still encouraged to bring her back by Jennifer and Mrs. Duey who would love on her each week to make her feel comfortable being there. Fast forward again under the new owner Rachel who is also amazing. She took over ownership of the studio and didn’t miss a beat our family was still just as welcomed and loved. It was a seamless transition to say the least. And believe it or not that little shy nonverbal girl would later be awarded most improved! Rachel has helped our family in so many ways. Dance has become apart of all of our lives and lives in our hearts. My youngest has 6 more years of dance here and the thought of no longer being apart of this studio saddens me (left hope for grandchildren down the road so I can keep coming lol). These kids don’t just learn dance but they learn a sense of hope, self confidence, accomplishment, strength, belonging, gain meaningful friendships. Oh and the staff! I LOVE them all! They pour into my children in so many ways. Understanding their each individual quirks, pushing them to thrive, and always boosting their confidences. I def have my favs lol but won’t single them out (you know who you are lol) but literally everyone is amazing here! Now that I’ve probably gotten the award for longest review I’ll sign off by saying! Please do not pass on this place! The life long impression Martell will leave on your and your family is so worth it!
Martell is everything I could hope for as a parent sending young children off to participate in extracurricular activities. The studio is a welcoming and safe environment for everyone to be themselves and enjoy dancing. Students of every level can find a class that suits them. They’ve got a class for everyone. The yearly recital is at the Civic Theatre and feels so special and professional. The dance training is top-notch without the pressure of competitions. For kids who are more serious about their dance eduction, there are leveled classes with more rigorous curriculum and opportunities to perform more and participate in master classes. The faculty is made up of wonderful people who have diverse experience within the world of professional dance. What I appreciate the most about Martell is the culture of respect, empowerment, and support that the staff has created toward and among the students. I grew up dancing at Martell and can attest that lifelong friendships are forged here. The students are really encouraged to become their best, healthiest, happiest selves. Martell is like a big family.
Had 2 daughters who both danced for many years at Martell School of Dance. From the owner to the instructors, the Martell team was not only great at providing dance instruction but also always kept the best of interest of their dancers the top priority. Would highly recommend!
My daughters have been dancing at Martell School of Dance for 17 years overall. We were immediately impressed with the different styles of dance and the professionalism of the school & staff! We became part of the Martell family from the start, feeling the dedication and love from Teri, Jennifer, and now Rachel. Although we live about 20-25 minutes from the studio and there are at least five other dance studios within 10 minutes of our home, we have never considered switching studios.
My daughter has been dancing for 7 years but has only been at Martell for 2-1/2 years. She had found a new love and confidence for all different types of dance. She takes Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Clogging, Modern and Lyrical and is always so excited for anything new. The staff and dance family at Martell helped my daughter to be confident enough to audition and be accepted into the dance program at Firestone ASA. She's very happy and loves dance. Everyone at Martell have made us feel very welcome and loved in the short time we've been there. We wouldn't change a thing.
