Her affordable after-school classes and summer sessions are small and split into well-thought out age groups. Themes vary depending on age group: they start with popular cartoon characters like Snoopy, SpongeBob, Pokemon, or whatever children are interested in, but she progressively develops themes including nature, portraits, and abstract paintings. This setup allows Mrs. Laughlin to keep children engaged while she develops close relationships with her students. For our daughter (9-11 years old), this class has facilitated her emotional and social development and self confidence. In addition, Maria gives us honest feedback on our daughter, which is much appreciated. At the end of the year, Maria sets up an art show to allow children and teens show off their artwork and receive prizes for best art piece by age group and class. I wholeheartedly recommend Maria Laughlin’s art classes for all children and teens with an interest and/or talent in drawing and painting!
